Jinjin was born in November 2005. When I brought him home it was
mid-winter and lots of snow.

He played and he played and he played.... A VERY energetic pup, he was.

We went to his first dog show when he was four months old (maybe five).
He did well and became Best Puppy in Breed.

Then he grew up into an energetic, wild, rather skinny but very handsome, young Prince.

Sometimes he was a very dirty prince, since he liked to dig for
(imaginary) voles in the muddy wetlands.

These were his domains - at least wintertime, when the cows were elsewhere.

This view is from another angle and farther away from the house.

I trained him not to leave our garden. It took a lot of watching and NO-saying,
but he learned to stay off the dirt road.

In summertime we spent a lot of time at one or other of the many lakes...

...where he could admire the beautiful dog in the lake.

Sometimes he could be quite philosophical.....

...but most of the time he didn't look beautiful or philosophical at all,
he only played like mad with sticks, branches - and even logs - and
were wet and dirty.

But beauty and play can sometimes unite - when the light is right.

He was very funny, too.

Acctually, he almost never broke or chewed things he was not allowed to break
or chew. Wild or not, he was - and is - a nice guy.

Once we gave him a reindeer skin. It took him five minutes to tear it to shreds.
He loved every second :-)

When mom worked he spent his days at a dog day care centre.

He loved mom's friends. At times a bit too much ....

Perhaps he needed a girlfriend of his own?

One day mom saw this photo on the internet. A lonely
little akita inu girl, dreaming of her future boyfriend.
Guess what? We brought her home.

"A bit TOOO little" Jinjin said, frowning.

In 2008 Ise joined our family - also she came in the winter.

"What IS that? I'd better stay up here so it can't reach me."

"Pleeeeease, take me away from her. She's embarrassing. "

And she is not allowed to steal my toys.

"But she IS rather pretty in that dress....."

"And she seems to think I'm good looking."

"Let's see if she can fight....."

"Well, not bad.... Not bad at all."

"She's not that bad at football either."

"And strong for her age she is too. (But it's MY broom.) "

"And she follows me - she thinks I'm clever."

Who could not fall for this girl?

She too did well at her first dog show.

Not that she cared. She just played a lot.

A very happy girl she was.

Of course Jinjin fell in love.

"She's MINE. Don't you dare to touch her!"

They played a lot. Rough and tough - and fast - it was, most of the time.

And then they rested.

Or took a walk along the lake.

But then they played again.

Ise grew up to become a lady.

At least when she was captured in a photo....

Once she tore a big bite from the back of my wintercoat and I wore it for days
without noticing. I must have looked like a tramp with ragged clothes.

In the summer of 2009 they where Best of breed and Best of opposite sex at
Österbybruk's International dog show. A very nice Greek judge we had.
She liked akitas. It was the first time we met Kitti too. She helped out
by showing Jinjin. (Very good - he won.)

By then, Jinjin was already a Champion.
That happened at MyDog in Gothenburg, January 2009.

But who cared?

Today, both dogs are Swedish Champions.

But that doesn't matter at all to them.

"We are happy where we are"
